Todays match against the young team from Svedala was peppered with strong serving and aces from almost every player. Gothenburgs block defense has gotten better in recent weeks and it showed.

Set one began even as Svedala worked with tough serving and scrappy defense. Once Gothenburg began to hit their stride in attack, they took a large lead. With strong serving and consistent serve receive, Gothenburg finished the set with 25-10.
Set 2 saw a large dip in Svedala’s receive and attack. Gothenburg upped the level in serve when outside attacker Sofia Bendiksen went on a 12 point run with 5 aces, ending set 2 with 25-7.

Set three saw more even back and forth play. Svedala brought up their level in block, serve and defense. Gothenburg helped the even playing field as their own mistakes made for a tough beginning to the 3rd set. However, even with mistakes, Gothenburg was able to rally in the middle of the set and minimize mistakes to take the third set 25-16.
